Appearance: If it wasn’t for his height, Reyson could easily be mistaken for a girl. Tall, well-proportioned but rather effeminate, he’s extremely light due to his hollow bones and is also quite fragile due to the fact that he has never known physical strain. (He once attempted to punch someone and shattered a bone in his wrist.) He has long, straight blond hair that reaches down to his thighs and green eyes that often vary between a light, bright green to a darker emerald when he’s moody or angry. His face has been called either painfully beautiful or eerily feminine by others, and his pale skin reflects his sheltered nature.

His most obvious features are a massive pair of white wings that grows out of his mid-back. He uses these to hover when in human form, but he can use a touch of white-magic to hide them as well.

His animal form is a slender, snow-white heron with long legs, a thin neck and equally long wings. He has gentle, diaphanous feathers growing out of the back of his head and his tail, making it seem as if he was part-peacock or part-phoenix. These feathers in particular, along with his all-white appearance, make him seem as if he glows under bright light.

For his clothing, Reyson is particularly fond of the whites, golds and greens, colors that remind him of home and peace. Back in the Serenes forest, he was dressed as royalty in a white and green robe with gold embroidery and pale, leg hugging boots. However, in jardin_du_ciel, he wears mainly outfits mainly consisting of a long white shirt, a velvet vest and a nice pair of white slacks. He does not dress ‘casual’ and refuses to touch anything that is ripped or made of denim. He claims doesn’t like the feel of denim against his skin.

Personality: Proud and big-hearted, Reyson is intelligent and well-educated, but often comes across as very sheltered. He doesn’t understand swears or slang very well, nor does he easily read sarcasm. He is notably distrustful of new things and has learned not to trust others instantly. However, he can be extremely niave around those that he considers ‘friends’ and will give trust them with both his trust and his safety. Because of this slight dependency, he prefers to be around one or two people that he knows and doesn’t like to be left alone for a long period of time.

He is, for the most part, very kind to those that are kind in return. However, he is easily startled, and tends to mask his fear with anger and defiance, which in turn leads him into trouble because he is physically incapable of protecting himself. He often seems to forget how weak he is and behaves irrationally when upset, usually when jumping to the defense of a friend or family member even at the expense of his own safety. Some may call him brash, but others call him selfless for such an act.

In hobbies, Reyson is particularly fond of plants and birds. He doesn’t like being trapped indoors and often can be found outside, tending to a garden or admiring a forest. His affinity with fellow birds often leads to them congregating around him, and one or two times he can be caught with a bird sitting on one of his fingers. He is also an avid singer and can often be found singing outside, though he loses the ability to do so if frightened or being forced to do so. (See below.)

Skills and Abilities: Reyson is, above all else, a healer. He can heal with the power of songs, using his beautiful singing voice and a touch of white magic to heal almost all injuries. The healing voice is an ability only the royals of the Heron Clan have, and it tends to heal everyone around him instead of just one person. At it’s best, his voice is known to have rejuvenate entire forests and caused all the animals within it to rejoice. Other effects from his voice include a general feeling of happiness and peace in the area, including the ability to momentarily slow fast winds and calm a crowd. However, the strength of his voice depends on his mood, and if he is terrified, angry or threatened, it is excruciatingly hard for him to sing.

His love for animal and birds goes well beyond the norm, and he seems to have the ability to communicate with them without using words. Though beloved of most woodland creatures, he cannot actually summon any of them randomly by will, but they often come to enjoy his voice or his presence nonetheless. Many allow him to touch them or come up when called to.

Reyson is also well-learned in medicine, especially those that involve plants. He can often make many different remedies from plants that he finds growing around, including herbal teas, antibiotics and soothing gels for burns and rashes. However, these take him a while to make and their taste is rather horrid.

Last but not least, there is his ability to transform into his heron form. He uses this form very sparingly since he is extremely helpless and even more easy to damage than he is as a human.

School Uniform: A white tunic that ends at his hips and has long sleeves that partially cover his palm and knuckles. He usually wears white slacks, green velvet boots and a matching vest. He has no combat outfit.
History: (Can’t really remember so am partially filling in the gaps.) A prince of the Heron Clan with a father, a brother and a younger sister, Reyson is one of just a handful of survivors of the Serenes Forest Massacre. The beautiful forest in which the herons lived was burned down twenty years ago by cruel people intent on capturing them for slavery. The herons were the most beautiful of the laguz and also the most helpless, and their feathers were worth more than gold. Some, of course, prefer to have a Heron pet.

Reyson was very young at the time of the Massacre, but he grew up cautious and extremely distrustful of people he did not know. When his father, the King of Serenes, became ill, he took on the job of becoming spokesperson for the few subjects he had left. His sister had somehow disappeared and he was on her trail when he was betrayed by a good friend from the Crow Clan and was sold for slavery. Terrified and angry, the prince tried desperately to fight off admirers seeking to make a pet of him. He was eventually saved by brave young knights to whom he then swore his allegiance, becoming their most powerful healer in return for the protection they gave him. Reunited with his sister later on, the two united their voices and sang for what was left of Serenes Forest, healing and restoring the vast majority of the forest.
